Abstract

In the last century, sport has been one of the important subjects of study in the humanities, and on this occasion, new fields such as sport sociology, sport geography, sport history, sport law, sport policy, political sociology of sport, and cultural studies of sport have been created. In the meantime, however, sport criminology has been less visible and has largely been overshadowed by sport sociology or sport law, and the concerns of contemporary criminologists, including crime prevention, criminal justice, and social control in the field of sport, have been neglected. This deficiency is more evident in the field of organized sport crimes. Despite the importance of describing organization from the perspective of criminal law and criminological studies, this issue has not been given much attention in criminal science research, and the international community has not shown much attention to recognizing and introducing the characteristics and attributes of organization. Considering this necessity, the present study, using an analytical and descriptive method and library tools, seeks to answer the question of what are the basic characteristics of organized corruption in the field of sports and how are these characteristics analyzed from a criminological perspective?
